The Queensland Parliament is responsible for appointing Senators in the case of a casual vacancy. After Senator Andrew Bartlett stepped down, the Queensland Parliament appointed Larissa Waters to fill the vacancy. I spoke strongly in favour of Larissa's appointment and her track record in the Senate.
