Queensland Parliament will debate a Greens motion this afternoon that denounces State Government support for weapons manufacturers that supply arms to Israel.
The motion refers to public funding for arms manufacturers including Ferra Engineering, and calls for the immediate withdrawal of funding for companies involved in the manufacture and supply of weapons to the State of Israel, as well as an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages and political prisoners, reinstatement of aid and an end to Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories.
Michael Berkman:
“The deaths and destruction in Gaza may seem far away, but they start right here in Brisbane.
“This Government is loudly and proudly supporting the companies that manufacture weapons used by Israel to conduct war crimes in Gaza.
“We are asking Queensland Labor MPs to show some courage, stand up for Palestine and end Government support for the weapons manufacturers that enable Israel’s war crimes.”
