Mega-Zipline would be a terrible Christmas gift: Greens

Monday 26 November 2018

Local Greens MP Michael Berkman has condemned the LNP Brisbane City Council’s plan to rush through their dodgy mega-zipline before Christmas with just 15 business days’ consultation.

“The LNP Council is trying to ram through this dodgy project like it’s a done deal despite a massive community campaign to stop it.

“I wrote to the Lord Mayor calling for a proper consultation period of at least 40 business days that doesn’t clash with school holidays or the end-of-year break.

“The LNP Council is being incredibly sneaky. Privatising Mt Coot-tha and trashing public green space would be a terrible Christmas gift.

“No other issue has united west side locals like this one, and they’re not backing down."

NOTE: Michael Berkman is leading a week of action against the zipline from Saturday 8 December – Saturday 15 December.
