Greens MP Michael Berkman has responded to news the QRC have registered as a Third Party today:
“By panicking and registering as a 3rd party, the QRC have effectively admitted they broke the law in running their dodgy campaign against the Greens.
“The ECQ now must prosecute the QRC. The law is very clear, organisations must register and declare all electoral expenditure.
“Ignorance of the law is not a defence and the QRC should be subject to the maximum fine outlined in the Queensland Electoral Act.
“The vast majority of Queenslanders agree with our plan to raise royalties on mining corporations to invest in health, education and jobs, and no amount of unlawful campaigning is going to stop us.”
