Question Time: Natural Disasters, Climate and Coal

On Thursday 14 February 2019, Michael asked the Premier how Labor can justify allowing new coal mining and gas fracking even after she admitted that climate change is making natural disasters even worse.
Greens MP for Maiwar Michael Berkman, along with Council candidates Donna Burns (Paddington), Michaela Sargent (Walter Taylor) and Charles Druckmann (Pullenvale), are today calling on the Brisbane City Council to close the Mt Coot-tha Quarry by 2025, with public consultation and a closure & rehabilitation plan by the end of 2020.
Greens MP Michael Berkman has proposed a levy on all coal and gas corporations via a $1 royalty premium, to increase the number of full time paid firefighters by 1400, create a permanent aerial firefighting fleet, better resource the Rural Fire Service and create 200 new Indigenous Ranger positions.
