Care and Community for Trans Children: What You Need To Know About Gender Healthcare

When: Thursday 6 March. 6:30 PM

Where: Online via zoom

The State Government has banned doctors prescribing puberty blockers and hormone therapy to children in the public healthcare system.

Like anyone in our community, the children and families affected by this ban deserve to live free from discrimination and to access the care they need to get on with their lives.

If you are a family with a gender diverse child or want to support families and children, please join us online for an evening of community and information sharing as we discuss

  • Why puberty blockers and hormone therapy are essential care for trans, intersex, and gender diverse children
  • The political context for this ban as well as the State and Federal reviews into gender-affirming care
  • Advice for accessing gender-affirming care in the private healthcare system (including interstate referral pathways)
  • Where and how to support the children and families in your life
  • Next steps for advocating for trans, intersex, and gender-diverse healthcare
