26/10/25 Storm

During the hailstorm on 26 October and severe heatwave on 27 October, thousands of households (particularly in Brisbane's west) suffered significant damage and power outages. On 28 October I wrote to the Disaster Recovery Minister urging the Qld Government to activate financial assistance payments - you can read my letter here.

Updates, information and assistance during emergencies

During a crisis like COVID-19 lockdowns, flooding, cyclones or other disasters, I share regular bulletins via email as well as on my social media. These include information on local resources, public infrastructure updates, community support and claiming financial assistance, as well as support from my office.

Where possible, my office at 1/49 Station Rd, Indooroopilly, will open during office hours for those who need things like internet, a phone charged or a hot shower. If we can't open, we'll usually coordinate volunteers to help locals in need.
