One of the major issues Maiwar locals have been consistently raising over the past few months is rampant, inappropriate, and unsustainable development in our community. I had the rare opportunity to raise these issues with the Queensland Parliament.
I told the Parliament what the people of Maiwar, and so many people across the Queensland think. Every day we're seeing inappropriate developments that go against neighbourhood plans, and the needs of residents and it is just not good enough. The corporate interests of property developers need to get out of planning decisions, and they need to pay their fair share. Both Council and State need to stop passing the buck. Our planning system needs a major overhaul.
